The Cemetery (3 sub-boards) An old cemetery that spans a good half acre of the grounds just beyond the field. It is surrounded by an old cast iron fence. The Auditorium This is a place where many things happen. From plays put on by the patients to orientations for new patients and their families, this is an important part of Asylum 29. Moderators: Papercut151, ash, jenny

The Terrance McKenzie Memorial Library This section of Asylum 29 was just completed. Built with money donated to the facility by the McKenzie family, it is stocked with many books on a large variety of subjects, from fiction to any type of nonfiction imaginable. This is a place where inmates are only allowed to go with special permission, and they must be accompanied by at least two guards the entire time. Moderators: Papercut151, ash, jenny

Asylum 29 Gymnasium This place is one of the newer buildings on the grounds. It is very large, with multiple weight lifting rooms, basketball courts, an indoor track, and a swimming pool. It is, of course, heavily guarded. It serves in many major Asylum 29 events. Moderators: Papercut151, ash, jenny

Cafeteria (1 sub-board) Like the modern main building, the cafeteria clean and nice. This is where guests can sit down and visit inmates. Old building inmates do not get to eat here because they are too unstabled/are being punished. Moderators: Papercut151, ash, jenny

The Gage This is a large room full of all sorts of arcade style video games and the like. There's a pool table, a foose ball table, a dart board, and a table for card and board games. There's even a TV, though it is small and black and white.
This area is a special area. Inmates are only allowed here on special occassions, as a reward of sorts. Staff is always allowed. Moderators: Papercut151, ash, jenny
Staff Lounge (3 sub-boards) Guarded for any trespassers, this section is exclusive to all asylum employees only. It is a shockingly wonderful and modern atmosphere, unlike every other part of the asylum besides maybe the main building's lobby. No one but staff knows what mysteries are found inside.
Dr. Miller's Mansion The founder of Asylum 29 lived here when it first opened. Now it's just an old abandoned building. The outside is kept up for appearances, but the inside is just as bad as the interior of the original hospital. Dangerous, moldy, and ruored to be haunted, it's best to avoid this place... but it IS a good place to go for a little privacy, if you can manage to get past the guards. Creative Corner (3 sub-boards) This is a special thread where you can share whatever you've written, drawn, or created with the rest of us. All creations are property of their respective creators*. Asylum 29 is a semi-literate to advanced roleplaying site. We're a small but active site; our members are incredibly tight-knitted and friendly.
Setting
Ever hear of the Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Kentucky? Asylum 29 is a modern day high security facility whose grounds are based on the historic supposedly haunted buildings. The exterior is beautiful, built on a twenty acre plot of ground. It is surrounded by a fifty foot high concrete fence, topped with barbed wire, with guard towers emerging from it every 100 feet or so. The massive gate is an olden style wrought iron behemoth, guarded twenty-four seven by guards armed with semi-automatic handguns, tazers, and nightsticks. The buildings include an auditorium, a cafeteria, and a main hospital. There is a large outdoor field where the more socially adept patients are sometimes allowed to roam.. under the watchful eye of armed guards, of course. The men and women have seperate holding facilities, but are allowed to mingle during 'recess.' It tends to run smoothly when the patients are heavily medicated. ~ To sum it up for you: Asylum 29 is a mental facility roleplaying site. Don't like it, don't join. But we hope you will. ^^
